The Life of a Jamaican Special Star
Yesterday our family came together to remember Grandpa.
Uncle Mikey, Aunty Des, Mikala, Alex, Aunty Rema, Aunty Mich and other family members went to church to pay our respects to Grandpa.
He was a policeman who was strong and fair and loved his family.
Grandpa Terance was 94 years old and died in hospital.
Vicky and I used to love to play with Grandpa.
We are going to miss him.
Today I went to Genesis Academy for my drumming class.
I was happy to see my friends Erin, Jordon and another boy.
We had fun playing with the drums and rhythm sticks.
The teacher told one boy to go inside because he was not listening.
Pablo came and took me back to the office.
After I finish writing my stories, I will play cricket outside with my friend Justin.
Today Pablo took me back to my old school, Genesis.
I saw lots of my old friends like Erin, Jordon, Anya and Quinteh.
I also saw my old teacher Mrs Knight.
I am now doing drumming classes every week.
We played the high hat, bass drum, snare and cymbals.
My school.is near to Sabina Park.
Today I had banana, yam, plantain and mackerel for breakfast.
Daddy and I enjoyed Mommy’s cooking.
Sister Vicky slept long and got up to drink her cereal and milk.
Later we will go to the supermarket to buy food stuff for our home and the office.
I had fish and rice for lunch.
Daddy came home and steamed fish with bammy.
Daddy has steam fish which tasted great.
Daddy is eating much better.
Of late, he is making me eat more vegetables in my food.
We are drinking more coconut water instead of sweet drinks.
Eating healthy is very important and helps me to control my mood swings.
I have to fight my seizuries so I don’t become grumpy.
In the evening we will go to look for Grandma and Grandpa.
He is not feeling well and needs a nurse to look after him.
Today I came to work with my Mommy and I had lunch with her and Daddy.
After lunch I went on the road with Daddy to check on the workmen.
Daddy took me to drumming at Alternative Music Studio where I met Uncle Bobby.
He took me into the drumming room and showed me some beats.
I enjoyed playing music with him and I will go back soon.
My school, Genesis Academy, closes today for the mid-term break.
It will reopen next week Tuesday.
Tomorrow will be a public holiday in Jamaica.
Labour Day is a time to show that we care by helping others.
On Labour Day, there are many projects to help the less fortunate people.
People get together to paint schools and hospitals.
Others help the older folks by feeding and caring for them.
Tomorrow I will stay home and help clean my home.
Today we drove downtown Kingston to look at the scenery.
From downtown we can see the airport in the distance.
We saw children throwing stones in the harbour and men fishing in the water.
We also saw some big cargo ships.
There are new restaurants on the waterfront.
We saw lots of people stopping by to eat and enjoy the places.
Many people were walking about the busy streets.
Daddy is going to take us downtown again soon.
My day started out very good with Uncle Wayne and his son Lawrence stopping by our house to say hello to our family.
I left for the office with Mommy, then Pablo took me to drumming with Uncle Warren.
I had a great time with Uncle Warren.
Today the World Cup Games starts back and we are watching France play Belgium.
At half time the score is 0:0.
Tomorrow England will play Croatia.
When Pablo returns we will drive to May Pen to do some work for the office.
When we get back we will go and pick up Sister Vicky.
Today is a bit overcast and it looks like it is going to rain.
