The Life of a Jamaican Special Star
Today I drove with Pablo to drop off Capo and Leroy at Uncle Trevor’s apartment.
Then Pablo took me to Genesis Academy for class.
I had fun at drumming with my friends.
I saw Anya dancing to the music.
Mrs Knight was writing on the black board.
I am back at the office now.
After I finish my stories, I will go outside to play cricket with Daddy and Justin.
Daddy will bowl and I will bat.
I will try not to hit the ball on the roof.
Today was an awesome day as I joined my friends at school.
We were going to a concert to mark the start of Special Olympics.
We practiced playing drums before we left school.
Mommy took pictures of us practicing the drums.
Vicky was dancing along as we played.
I was happy that my sister enjoyed my drumming.
Then we took a bus to the National Indoor Sports Center.
We played our drums for the audience and they cheered us.
My friends Erin, Jordan and Derrick also played music.
It felt good to be drumming with my friends.
My teachers were very proud of us.
I also saw a funny clown at the concert.
Afterwards, Mommy and Vicky picked me up and took me to the office.
I am now having lunch at the office.
Sister Vicky is learning to write her own stories.
After lunch, I will rest and go to the supermarket.
Last night, I felt the cool breeze blowing.
This tells me that Christmas is just around the corner.
I hear jingles on the radio and see see ads on TV.
I see decorations In the stores.
Christmas is coming!
At Christmas time we remember people who are old, sick and poor, and we must be kind to them.
We must spend time together as family and give thanks for all our blessings.
This year we will say a special prayer for Grandpa.
This is our first Christmas holiday without him.
I enjoyed my drumming class today.
I saw Erin and Jordon and we had fun playing the drums.
On Saturday we will be performing in an auditorium.
We practiced the songs that we will be playing on Saturday.
Music helps me to learn and to relax.
It is good for my brain.
I have class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Daddy is going to help me do better at drumming.
We will go back to the music studio very soon.
Every day after drumming I head to the office to play my favorite game.
I like playing cricket.
I also like watching cricket stars like Gayle, Kholi and Moen Ali.
I was playing cricket outside the office with Daddy, Ras, Security and Mario.
My friend Justin came and played with me.
I was hitting fours and sixes all over the place.
I hit some balls on the roof.
Capo climbed up to get the balls off the roof and threw them down.
I like to hear everybody cheer me on.
On Sunday we went to the beach.
Mommy, Daddy, Vicky, Grandma, Uncle Mikey, Aunty Des, Mikala, Alex and other family members all went to Waves Beach. in Hellshire.
We ate fish, bammy and festival.
It was a fun day.
Vicky and I collected seashells and built sand castles.
I had lots of fun swimming and diving for shells.
Sister Vicky cried when the water got into her eyes.
We enjoyed the time spent as a family.
It was a nice way to remember Grandpa.
Yesterday our family came together to remember Grandpa.
Uncle Mikey, Aunty Des, Mikala, Alex, Aunty Rema, Aunty Mich and other family members went to church to pay our respects to Grandpa.
He was a policeman who was strong and fair and loved his family.
Grandpa Terance was 94 years old and died in hospital.
Vicky and I used to love to play with Grandpa.
We are going to miss him.
Today I went to Genesis Academy for my drumming class.
I was happy to see my friends Erin, Jordon and another boy.
We had fun playing with the drums and rhythm sticks.
The teacher told one boy to go inside because he was not listening.
Pablo came and took me back to the office.
After I finish writing my stories, I will play cricket outside with my friend Justin.
Today Pablo took me back to my old school, Genesis.
I saw lots of my old friends like Erin, Jordon, Anya and Quinteh.
I also saw my old teacher Mrs Knight.
I am now doing drumming classes every week.
We played the high hat, bass drum, snare and cymbals.
My school.is near to Sabina Park.
Today I had banana, yam, plantain and mackerel for breakfast.
Daddy and I enjoyed Mommy’s cooking.
Sister Vicky slept long and got up to drink her cereal and milk.
Later we will go to the supermarket to buy food stuff for our home and the office.
I had fish and rice for lunch.
Daddy came home and steamed fish with bammy.
Daddy has steam fish which tasted great.
Daddy is eating much better.
Of late, he is making me eat more vegetables in my food.
We are drinking more coconut water instead of sweet drinks.
Eating healthy is very important and helps me to control my mood swings.
I have to fight my seizuries so I don’t become grumpy.
In the evening we will go to look for Grandma and Grandpa.
He is not feeling well and needs a nurse to look after him.
